Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church is a long-established Christian congregation located in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Founded in the early 1960s, it has evolved into one of the territory’s most active and influential churches, dedicated to worship, community outreach, and education. The church’s guiding vision—“Gather, Grow, Give”—shapes its ministries and public engagement.
The church’s roots trace back to 1960, when local residents and visiting missionaries introduced Bible lessons to the Cane Garden Bay community. Officially established in 1962, the congregation grew under successive leaders, including Reverend Dr. Melvin A. Turnbull, who served as senior pastor for 47 years. Since 2023, Reverend Dr. Michael A. Turnbull has led the church, continuing its legacy of spiritual and social leadership.
Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church offers ministries for all ages—children (GLOW), youth (Revolution), adults (Victorious Women, Cave of Adullam men’s group, and Couples Ministry)—alongside community initiatives such as the Blanche & Blanche Pantry. Weekly gatherings include Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. and midweek “Refuel” Bible study sessions.
Beyond worship, the church is recognized for civic engagement and charitable outreach across Tortola and the wider Virgin Islands. It founded educational and humanitarian programs, supports local schools, and runs one of the region’s longest-running religious radio broadcasts, the Life Devotional.
