Grants Town Wesley Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church located in the Grants Town area of Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas. It is part of the Methodist denomination and serves a long-established urban community on the southern side of the city.
The church has roots dating back to the 1800s, when Methodist worship and outreach were expanding in Nassau after emancipation. It developed as a mission church serving residents of Grants Town, which became one of the key working-class communities in the capital. Over time, it grew into a major congregation within the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church.
Throughout its history, the church has been closely involved in community life, including education, youth organizations, outreach programs, and social support initiatives. It has also hosted major civic and national events, reflecting its role as both a religious and community gathering place.
Today, Grants Town Wesley Methodist Church remains an active congregation known for its traditional worship services, strong community engagement, and its long-standing presence in one of Nassau’s oldest neighborhoods.
