Iglesia Metodista La Resurrección is a historic Methodist church in Ponce, Puerto Rico, located at 135 Calle Villa in the city's historic district. It is notable both as an active place of worship and as one of Puerto Rico's most significant early Protestant church buildings, designed by renowned architect Antonín Nechodoma and completed in 1907–1908.
The church is widely recognized for its distinctive architecture, blending Neo-Gothic, Spanish Revival, Spanish Baroque, Byzantine, and other eclectic influences. Its reinforced-concrete construction was innovative for its time, while stained-glass windows, exposed structural elements, decorative woodwork, and a prominent bell tower contribute to its visual character.
The building was the first structure designed by Nechodoma in Puerto Rico and was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1987 due to its architectural and historical importance.
La Resurrección continues to serve as an active Methodist congregation. Services, religious education, weddings, pastoral installations, and community gatherings are held in the church. Historical accounts note that the building has also played a broader role in Ponce's educational and civic life, including serving as an early location for Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in the 1960s.
