Immanuel Methodist Church is a historic Methodist congregation located in Sandy Point, St. Kitts and Nevis. Established in 1787, it is one of the oldest Methodist churches in the country and traces its origins to the early Methodist missionary movement in the Caribbean. The congregation was formerly known as Sandy Point Methodist Church and was officially renamed Immanuel Methodist Church in 2011.
The church's history reflects the growth of Methodism in Sandy Point during a period when the town was an important center of military and commercial activity. A wooden chapel originally located in Dieppe Bay was moved to Sandy Point to serve the expanding Methodist community. As membership increased, the congregation constructed the present stone church building in 1830, with additional galleries added in 1839. Following renovations, the church was rededicated in 2016.
Immanuel Methodist Church serves as a center for Christian worship, discipleship, fellowship, and community outreach. The congregation offers regular worship services, Bible study, prayer meetings, youth ministries, and other programs designed to nurture spiritual growth and strengthen community life. As part of the St. Kitts Circuit of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas, it continues the Wesleyan tradition of faith, service, and evangelism.
