Mount St. Benedict Abbey in St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, is the oldest Benedictine monastery in the Caribbean and the spiritual home of the Benedictine monks in the country. Founded in 1912, the abbey is dedicated to prayer, contemplation, and service in accordance with the Rule of Saint Benedict and the Benedictine motto, "Ora et Labora" ("Pray and Work"). Nestled in the scenic hills overlooking the East-West Corridor, the abbey welcomes people of all faiths who seek peace, spiritual reflection, and a deeper connection with God.
